Week 13 INJURY REPORT: Buccaneers at Chargers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Injuries:

S Chris Conte (chest) and C Evan Smith (knee) were ruled out by the Buccaneers. DT Gerald McCoy (foot), TE Brandon Myers (hip), RB Jacquizz Rodgers (foot) and S Ryan Smith (shoulder) are listed as questionable.

While Payton Barber is still active, with Jacquizz Rodgers out, expect to see a lot more of the work load going to Doug Martin.

San Diego Chargers Injuries:

LB Jatavis Brown (knee) and CB Brandon Flowers (concussion) are out this weekend. TE Asante Cleveland (concussion, knee), DT Tenny Palepoi (shoulder) and WR Tyrell Williams (shoulder) drew questionable tags.

Keeping an eye on Tyrell Williams is something that should be done. it will come out prior to the 1:25 start today is he’s suiting up or not; if not, that’s a big loss for the Chargers with their already shrinking offense.

Another One Gone: Jerry Attaochu Out for the Season

The Chargers have played in 11 games this season. Of those 11, nine have had a season-ending injury.

Wide receiver Keenan Allen (ACL, after Week 1), running back Danny Woodhead (ACL, Week 2), inside linebacker Manti Te’o (Achilles, Week 3), corner Jason Verrett (ACL, Week 4), inside linebacker Nick Dzubnar (ACL, Week 5), defensive end Caraun Reid (ACL, Week 7), running back Dexter McCluster (forearm, Week 8), nose tackle Brandon Mebane (biceps, Week 10) and now a linebacker in Jerry Attaochu.

He was the Chargers’ 2nd round pick in 2014. He broke his foot Sunday in the 4th quarter; it was caught on the turf, sources said.

It’s a blow to the depth at the linebacker position and it’s a blow to him. He’s young talent and need the reps to improve his game.

He had already missed 3 games this season due to a high ankle sprain and now he’ll miss the last 5.

“I’m looking forward to having him here,” he said.  “He’s been in this league for a few years, and he knows how to play this game.  If he has any questions, I’m more than willing to help. We are a brotherhood here, and he is part of that brotherhood now. He adds some excitement to this team, and he’s going to fit in well.”

The Ohio State product still is tied for second among this year’s rookies with four sacks. But with six games left in the season, Bosa said he’s more focused on helping his team secure victories than putting up monster sack numbers.

Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane became the 15th member of the San Diego Chargers injured reserve list on Tuesday.

Week 9 INJURY REPORT: Titans at Chargers

We may see a lot more Antonio Gates today without Hunter Henry being active. Both Jatavis Brown, Denzel Perryman and Jerry Attaochu out means a week front on the defensive line.

Despite having a foot injury, DeMarco Murray is good to go this week.

Week 8 INJURY REPORT: Chargers at Broncos

With Attaochu out, Joey Bosa and Jatavis Brown will have to step up big to shake this Denver line.

Aqib Talib out is a green flag for the Chargers’ receivers and Marshall is a bit of a relief for the Chargers O-line. Demarcus Ware is back in for Denver and we all know what he’s capable of.

Jason Verrett: “My season is done with”

Well, the nightmare has become a reality. Confirmed by multiple-sources, Chargers CB, Jason Verrett, will undergo surgery to repair a partially torn ACL. This now makes 3 players on the roster that have suffered from a season-ending ACL tear; Danny Woodhead, Keenan Allen and now Jason Verrett.

There’s a few people who are talking that he could play through it if he wanted, just like Pat Tillman did, until he tore it fully. Which, in the long run, doesn’t seem like the most logical thing to do, but CAN happen.

With the news of this happening, Chargers re-signed CB Steve Willams; waiving NT Ryan Carrethers. With them waiving Carrethers, it means that Joey Bosa may be seeing the field soon.

REPORT: Jason Verrett With Possible Knee Injury

It was off to a great morning on Wednesday the 5th, there was a cool breeze and the sun was out. Everything was going well, up until Adam Schefter dropped the bomb that would make any Chargers’ fan stomach twist:

If this is the case, the Chargers will be without arguably their best Corner Back on the team. Casey Hayward has been playing very well, but with Brandon Flowers on the injury report due to concussion and Craig Mager playing not-so-well, it may be a long season to come.

This is also may be the reason that Verrett was struggling with covering T.Y. Hilton in the Colts game. We all have to hope that it’s nothing huge and wish him the best in regards to luck.
